DeskRail STL Pack Guide
The DeskRail STL Pack comes with nearly 30 STL models of different of DeskRails and compatible mounts. In this guide, we will cover each of the included models, necessary hardware, recommended print orientations, and any model specific settings.
- The STL pack has officially been updated with most models now being compatible with a screw mount! Mounts will have a threaded hole in the rail section where you install the 3D printed mounting screw!
- This update allows us to loosen tolerances and not require finely calibrated filaments and printers for the perfect dovetail fitment. The mounting screw now fixes the mounts in place for a rigid and higher quality experience.
- Mounts that are not compatible with the screw mount include the cable holders and the keyboard holder.
General Settings
Unless otherwise specified, these models are designed to be printed with PLA and the following general printer settings:
0.4mm Nozzle
0.2mm Layer Height
Dovetail tolerances can be tight, so using a calibrated printer and filament can be important. Some parts may require a "break in" period depending on your printer. This means sliding parts along the rail a few times.
Desk Rail Base Rail (3DP-DR-XXXR-1)
These Base Rails are the core of the DeskRail system. They are adhered under the front of your desk shelf by using 3M 1600T foam tape (1" width by .044" thick). All accessories attach to this rail system.
Print these rails with the logo facing downwards without supports.
Along with this rail are the end stops (3DP-DR-END-1) and installation guides (3DP-DR-IG-1). Find more details on using both of these in our quick start guide and DeskRail Intro video.
The installation guides ensure your rail is installed straight and is compatible with all mounts in the STL pack.
The DeskRail STL pack now comes with rails that have mounting holes for screws if you don't want to use an adhesive strip (3DP-DR-XXXRH-1). These holes are spaced 10cm apart and use M5 button head machine screws, or a comparable sized wood screw.
Printing the rails with holes requires supports for the counterbored screw holes.
Phone Mounts
MagSafe Combo Mount (3DP-DR-MAGPW)
This combo iPhone & Apple watch mount can be printed in the orientation below, with the front plate requiring normal supports. The rail mount does not require supports.
The front plate can have a cleaner appearance with ironing, for which I recommend the following settings (tested with Bambu X1C, Bambu Matte PLA):

This STL is designed for use with the official Apple watch charger and the first gen Apple Magsafe Charger found here.
MagSafe Mount (3DP-DR-MAGXX-1)
MagSafe Mount (3DP-DR-MAGXX-1) is a two part mount that is compatible with the Apple official MagSafe puck. (The STL pack has been updated to support the newest Gen 2 wireless charger as well 10/2024).
Both parts require supports when 3D printing. The MagSafe Mount (3DP-DR-MAG01-1) can be printed with normal supports. The Rail Mount (3DP-DR-MAG02) produces better results when printed with tree supports.
The two parts slide into each other and can be glued together if desired.
Premium MagSafe Base (3DP-DR-PMAG-1)
This is an adapter for those who have purchased any of the premium MagSafe mounts shown in this STL pack.
This rail mount uses the same mounting features to the front plate of the premium MagSafe Mounts. Tree supports are recommended for printing this model in the orientation below:
Basic Phone Holder (3DP-DR-MH-1)
This simple phone holder is a minimal and functional phone mount that requires no supports.
Pop Socket Mount (3DP-DR-PSXX-1)
This mount is for those using pop sockets on the back of their phone. The pop socket mount is a two part system that can be glued together for a more solid assembly.
No supports are needed when printed with the following orientation:
Tablet Mounts
Adjustable Tablet Mount (3DP-DR-ATHXX-1)
Because tablets can be pretty large, this two part tablet holder lets you adjust the height to optimize tablet placement on your DeskRail. These two components slide together and wedge in place at different positions for flexibility.
Cable Holders
These cable holders are designed to do just that, hold cables! To install, first insert a cable into the holder, then slide it onto your DeskRail.
Accessory Mounts
Apple Watch Charger (3DP-DR-AW-1)
This accessory can hold and charge your Apple watch when paired with the official Apple Watch Wireless Charger.

When installing the Apple Watch Charger, insert the cable into the circular cutout and route it through the rear loop for a clean cable-free look.
Headphone Mounts (3DP-DR-HMXX-1)
These headphone mounts are designed to live on the side of your desk or desk shelf. Their size and mounting method makes them best suited for lighter weight headphones.
One headphone mount keeps your headphone away from the DeskRail, and the other keeps the headphones directly above the DeskRail.
Garmin Watch Mounts (3DP-DR-GWXX-1)
The Garmin watch mount uses the original Garmin charging cable and retains it in a handy charging stand.
There are two types of Garmin watch holders included in this STL pack. Select one based on where the charging port is located on your watch.
3DP-DR-GWS - Use the files with this prefix (S - Straight) if your charging port is on either side of your watch.
3DP-DR-GWR - Use the files with this prefix (R - Right Angle) if your charging port is at the top or bottom of your watch.
Stream Deck Mount
This mount is for the Elgato 15-Key Stream Deck and fits both the MK1 & MK2. This two-part mount is designed to be glued together.
The open back design ensures this works with both the MK1 and MK2 15-key Stream Decks.
Universal Macro Pad Mount
This universal macro pad mount is for those using a less common accessory that simple requires a platform with a front lip. To accommodate positional adjustability, this mount comes in three parts.
Here is the necessary hardware for this mount:
-4x M3 x 6mm Screws
-4x M3 x 7mm OD Washers
-4x M3 Heat Set Inserts
-4x 10mm OD x 3mm Thick Rubber Bumpers
Two heat set inserts are installed onto Mount (3DP-DR-MP-M01), and two are installed onto Extension (3DP-DR-MP-M02). The rubber bumpers are installed on the Base (3DP-DR-MP-M03)
DualRail System
The dual rail system uses two base rails that are spaced our 3.5 inches from each other which allows the use of larger accessories.
Dual Rail Install Guide (3DP-DR-DUAL-IG-1)
Use the install guide below to install both rails to ensure both are parallel and spaced out correctly.
Cubby/Drawer Systems (3DP-DR-DUAL-CDX-1)
There are three cubby/drawer sizes included with the dual rail system. All cubby systems come with a rail mount, the cubby, the drawer, and two different drawer caps.
The small drawer system comes with a cubby connector (3DP-DR-DUAL-CDS04-1) which attach to four places on the small cubby so you can stack two on top of each other. These work best when glued in place.
The large cubby system uses a larger rail attachment than the medium and small cubby systems.
Pencil Organizer (3DP-DR-DUAL-PO-1)
This accessory uses the same rail mount as the small and medium drawers, and replaces the typical pencil cup.
