DeskRail Quick-Start Guide

DeskRail Quick-Start Guide

Thank you for your DeskRail purchase! This quick-start guide will help get your DeskRail installed and ready to use.

Method 1: Adhesive Back Mounting

Step 1: Prep The Install Surface

Using a solvent such as isopropyl alcohol, wipe down the mounting area with a lint free cloth. Allow this surface to dry completely.

A clean, dry, and oil-free surface will provide the strongest bond.

Step 2: Mount The DeskRail

The Install Guides shown in the image below are used to align your DeskRail with the front edge of your desk shelf. This ensures all add-ons have the appropriate amount of clearance, and the rail is installed perfectly parallel to your shelf.

(If you ordered Cable Holder mounts or Keyboard Holder mounts, you will also have a set of End Stops included. The End Stops make sure your attachments don't slide off your DeskRail.)

With the mounting area clean, we can now install the DeskRail. Remove the 3M adhesive liner and align the Install Guides with the front edge of your desk shelf.  Raise the DeskRail until the adhesive meets the underside of your desk shelf and add pressure.

Try not to touch the adhesive surface or reposition the mount once pressed against your desk shelf.

Add firm pressure along the entire length of the DeskRail for the best adhesion and remove the Install Guides from your DeskRail.

Step 3: Wait 24 Hours for Heavier Items

You may use the DeskRail immediately for lightweight add-ons.  For mounts using heavier items such as the tablet mount, Stream Deck Plus, Stream Deck XL, etc. wait 24 hours before use.

Method 2: Screw Mounting

Note, screw mounted DeskRails are only compatible with desk shelves thicker than 3/8". For ease of installation, flip your desk shelf upside down.

Step 1: Align Desk Rail & Mark Hole Centers

Assemble the install guides and align the DeskRail with the front edge of the desk shelf. Mark the hole center locations.

Step 2: Drill Holes

For delicate wood, drill pilot holes to ensure a flush mount. Use a 7/64" drill bit, and drill approximately 5/16" deep. Place tape 5/16" deep on drill bit for a visual reference. Its the approximate length of the engaged screw.

Step 3: Fasten Screws

With the install guides still attached, fasten down the included screws. Fasten by hand using a Philips head screw driver. If using a power drill, set the drill to the minimum torque setting to avoid damage.

Using The End Stops

The End Stops are made to stop your cable holder or keyboard holder accessories from sliding off your rail. They can only be installed on each end of the DeskRail.

To use the End Stops, hook one end into the indented cavity on the edge of the DeskRail, as shown in the image below. Then rotate the bottom end of the End Stop into the opposite DeskRail cavity until you hear it snap in place.
