Great Versatile Notebook

Printed the A5 notebook with no issue, looks and feel as if I purchased it right from the store. I enjoy how versatile and customizable it is for my desired need at any given time. I can change or add different types of pages and dividers, or remove the pen holder if needed. I am left handed so I love how I can fold it for better, smoother, and more comfortable writing across the whole page. Great design.

This is AMAZING and printed PERFECTLY first try NO trimming or fixing required

Printed on a Bambu A1 in PLA.
Far surpasses my expectations. It is fantastic. My first print worked perfectly. Assembly was a piece of cake... even after putting the clips on upside down and having to take it apart. I am also very impressed at how well this works with a .4mm nozzle. I was certain it would need .2mm for the smaller bits. Yes, it's a teeny tiny bit fiddly getting the MIDDLE ring to stay down when sliding the clip in but it worked out fine.
I had planned to "reverse engineer" this on my own in cad/3D, etc. I realized how long this would take to fiddle with connections and test prints. Since this is going to be printed for holiday gifts, I splurged. I have never paid for 3D models and now know why it's worth it to reward the creators. You get a better design. So glad I did.

My original plan is a much smaller A7-ish size planner/calendar. I don't see any reason I can't simply modify this; my current design has the same 6 holes but no gap. I plan to simply close up the gap and make it work. I am POSITIVE this will work. I will also experiment with making the ring strips shorter to reduce the size of the rings. For a smaller notebook, they don't need to be so large. If it fails no loss, just go with the A5 original.

I have the AMS and plan to do some custom designs on the front cover for my gifts.
mods worked! A7 with smaller rings. Have to customize the ring connectors as the ends bump together on the inside section.

Incredible files, but how to use the mystery part?

This printed exceptionally well on my Bambu Lab A1, but the smaller square black piece for the back cover... your .pdf instructions don't mention it and I can't find any reference for how it's supposed to be used or separated. You did a great job in your instruction guide of showing how to unfold the larger support stand, but his little piece has me a bit baffled and I don't want to break it. Can you provide instructions on how it's supposed to be opened, and what it's used for? It's the part I've circled in red and pointed to with the red arrow in the attached image...

Hello! This is the phone holder that snaps into the A5 back cover. This was added after the manual was created, apologies for the lack of instruction!

The top surface that you can see in the image you attached is actually the base, and all other hinges rotate in the direction of the build plate. I show how its unfolded in this video which should help: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DKMrlOUNYqT/

Awesome

Great design. I agree with some of the other reviews that the rings are a little painful, I love that everything is 3d printed. Just bring some paper and a pen.

Excellent job

Pretty slick design, but very dependent on printer tolerances.

Been watching for something like this for a minute, found this product through instagram. I added the topography to the cover for my own purposes. Really appreciated the product files in the formats, including 3mf and raw STLs. Works as intended and I imagine I'll be printing a few of these for various purposes. I found the guide to be well written, helpful and accurate. That said, assembly wasn't fun. Printer tolerances are pretty key here, and I wouldn't put it together without a utility knife handy to trim with. Primarily, the "Lock Sliders", as he calls them. Be prepared to trim the edges on that, or this is a nogo if your tolerances aren't perfect. Other than that, this is a great product, and I'll likely just increase tolerances in the sliders prior to print for the next one.

Hello James, love the topography design you added!

Those lock sliders can definitely be finicky if your printer has a heavy 'elephants foot' on the first layer. You can also try scaling that model slightly in your slicer to get the desired fit.

- Quick update, this design now supports off the shelf binder rings, so you don't have to work with the printed bindings anymore!

Notebook STL Pack

A beautiful and well-designed notebook package with great extras, such as a stand and a pen holder.

The printing worked well on my Prusa MK4s. An instruction PDF file is also included, but it's not entirely up-to-date, which isn't a major issue.

Conclusion: A great package at a fair price, in my opinion.

Amazing!

I have printed some for the wife and myself, I was wondering if there was a file for the solid back with binders? I've looked thru thru the files plus the updated ones and didn't see one.

Thank you JC! You can find the solid back covers in the following filepath of the STL Pack:

3D Printed Notebook STL Pack > STL Files > XX Size > Back Covers > XX 'Plain'

Looks great

I haven't printed it yet, but the files look great. However, I wanted to ask if it's possible to get the version of the front cover that comes without the title cards, just the cover without the hole.

Prints beautifully

I used the 3mf files as suggested on my Bambu Lab P1S, I didn't have to do any post processing at all.
I would highly recommend this notebook, it really is great.

It's worth every dollar you pay

The design is spectacular, but the quality of the STL and the profiles for the printer are exceptional. I will definitely buy again.

Muchas gracias.

Sorry you are having trouble with the stands! The most common issue here is when a printer's first layer height is too low, this makes the deposited plastic very wide and the different parts of the stand fuse together ('elephants foot'). Message me and I can help you dial in your printer's first layer height!

Nice design!

Hi,

I really liked your design. I'm building the A5 version right now, and I was wondering if there is a chance of having a simpler, more sober version of the back cover, without either of the stands, with a pen holder at the side. I don't know if that is something I can do without violating the licensing, so I'd like to ask first :)

Great design otherwise. I can finally build proper notebooks and color code them exactly as I want. Thank you!

Hey there! Thanks for the feedback, this has been requested a few times so I will be updating the STL packs to have plain back covers as well as side-pen-only back covers! This will be updated soon!

A4

Hi, your notebooks are really good, any plans to make an A4 version?
